Park Adobe Wall
A generous resident of South Valley has underwritten the construction
of a beautiful adobe wall to grace the east side of our St. Edwin Park.
We have enjoyed seeing it go up.
A basin is formed
in the mound
where water and
straw are mixed
with the earth.
From there blocks
are made by pressing
the mixture into the
form.
The blocks are left
to dry and harden
in the sun.
The blocks are then
stacked with more
mud mortar
inbetween. Here is
one view of our rising
wall.
We will finish the
wall with stucco to
protect the blocks.
Add a little bit of landscaping and we will be all set!
