Rite of Christian Initiation, Adults
Welcome to our Rite of Christian Initiation program, for adults eighteen years and over who need to receive any one or all of the the three Sacraments of Initiation, that is, Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation. This is also the class for those who are interested in becoming Catholic. We emphasize that the goal is integration into a vibrant, loving Catholic- Christian parish family. Our program officially begins the first Thursday of July and is typically one year. You can jump in at any point of the program. Classes are held Thursday evenings, from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. We take breaks for all major holidays. After completion of the one year cycle, sacraments are received at the following Easter Vigil. For those who need Confirmation only, the program is slightly adjusted. There are a number of opportunities to be confirmed both at the parish and throughout the Archdiocese during the year. Our program has four aspects: 1) Thursday evening classes under the direction of our competant director. 2) Sunday Mass. Participation in the Eucharist forms the foundation of our program and all that we do here as a parish. 3) “Learning,” which includes knowing the prayers and other important components of our faith. 4) Participation in our parish events, especially in our two annual festivals and Advent Posada. There are other events as well, conveniently scheduled on Thursday evenings. If you are interested and ready, just stop by the office, leave your name, number and the sacraments you seek, and we will get you started!
