Sponsors are spiritual parents
(“godparents”) who assist in the
nurturing of the faith of their
godchildren. It is a solemn task,
one that requires individuals who
are practicing the faith they wish
to hand on. We strongly encourage
students to choose a sponsor who is
local, someone who can accompany
the young person throughout the
time of formation.
Those who would like to be a
sponsor request an affidavit (a
sworn written testimony) at the
parish where they are actively
registered. To be a sponsor one
