Children’s Class
During the Covid restrictions
we are live streaming classes,
which are a bit shorter.
As for Mass, although we are
open to 25% capacity, families
may opt to listen to Mass from
the safety of their cars on the
radio, parked around the
church.
We hope to resume pre-k
through 1st grade classes next
year.
Dear families,
St. Edwin welcomes parents and
children who find fulfillment in
belonging to a local Catholic-
Christian community, look forward
each Sunday to the celebration of
the Eucharist, and seek to be formed
in the faith we hold dear. The goal
of our program is full integration
into the life of a local parish family,
crowned by the reception of one or
more of the Sacraments of Initiation
and Reconciliation.
As a result our program is
fourfold:
1) Weekly Wednesday Class
under the direction of our
dedicated catechists.
2) Sunday Mass, even in the
summer season when we do not
have classes. Participation in the
Eucharist forms the foundation of
our program and all that we do here
as a parish.*
3) “Learning,” which includes
knowing the prayers and other
important components of our faith.
4) Participation by the
parents in our spring and fall
festivals, and the December New
Mexico Posada. It is a great way to
get to know the other parishioners.
Children age 7 (second grade)
through middle school have
class each Wednesday afternoon
from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.
Two years is the time of
preparation for First Holy
Communion. The children will make
their First Reconciliation towards
the end of the second year.
We start each year the second
week of September. You can see the
various dates as well as vacations on
the “Master Calendar” of this site.
Refer to it often!
For more information feel free to
call or visit our office!
*We have learned through
experience that parents who do not
attend Sunday Mass on a weekly
basis with their children will not do
well in our program.
