Sacramental Preparation from 2nd through 8th grade, and class for pre-k through 1st grade
Dear parents, Welcome to our child First Holy Communion and child Catholic formation program. The goal of our programs is both the reception of one or more of the Sacraments of Initiation as well as full integration into the life of a local parish family. As a result our program is threefold: 1) Sunday Mass which forms the core of all we do even when class is not in session. It is the first and most important part of our program. 2) Weekly Class under the dedicated direction of our catechists. 3) Participation by the parents in our spring and fall festivals, and the December New Mexico Posada. It is a great way to get to know the other parishioners. Children age seven (second grade) through middle school attend our Wednesday afternoon instruction from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. Two years is the time of preparation for First Holy Communion. The children will make their First Reconciliation towards the end of the second year. Class for children Pre-K through 1st grade is also offered on Wednesdays. Thus we afford parents dropping off all their children together a brief moment of rest during the week! Note, however, that this is not considered part of the two-year sacramental formation program for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. That begins at age seven. Our program starts each year at the beginning of September. You can see the exact date as well as vacations on the “Master Calendar” of this site. Refer to it often! For more information call or visit our office.
